The asset had been acquired, through a State public auction by Sociedad Mercanti Estatal de Gestión Inmobiliaria de Patrimonio (Segipsa).
The warehouse was a former distribution centre owned by a food company. The transaction was advised by Knight Frank.
The asset has loading bays in three of the building’s four fronts, and will be fully refurbished by Meridia. It will then be placed on the rental market.
Alejandro Vega-Penichet, director of the Industrial and Logistics Department at Knight Frank, pointed out that the purchase of the warehouse represents a good opportunity for Meridia «within a market with such little offer as is the market of Barcelona».
