Under the motto "Embracing collaborative retail", this edition of MAPIC intends to be a space for collaboration, sharing ideas and discussing solutions for the retail industry during a moment of crisis. «With the Covid-19 pandemic and the huge difficulties the retail and leisure industries are facing and will face, the world of retail will rely more on collaboration: on sharing data and new leasing models, with humanity at the heart of the business», revealed MAPIC Event’s director Nathalie Depetro.
It is under this context that this edition of MAPIC promises to address subjects which go from collaborative retail to the challenges launched by e-commerce’s evolution and including mandatory themes such as sustainability, innovation and transformation within the segment. The leisure industry will also play a very important role, as well as cities and urban developments.
MAPIC Digital intends to bring together «the international real estate community and experts on leisure to network, carry out virtual business meetings, participate in conferences and get to know the new city centres, retail and leisure projects», added Nathalie Depetro.
Initially, this edition was scheduled to take place in Cannes, but in October the organization announced the change of plans, «due to the continuous impact of the Covid-19 pandemic», and presented a 100% online format as an alternative. For 2021, MAPIC should take place on-site, in mid-November.
