This initial approval represents the starting signal for the administrative processing of the new arrangement with which the 2.357.443 m2 located north of the Castellana will be transformed. And from its publication in the Official Journal of Madrid City Council, the document will be submitted to a public information period of 45 days before its temporary approval, in which the project may be submitted. Subsequently, it will be sent to the Community of Madrid for final approval.
The project will require an investment of more than €1,700 million, of which almost €1,200 million will be the responsibility of the main owners of the land. This amount does not include the necessary investments in the Chamartín station and in the proposed commuter stations, still to be specified by ADIF.
