The study concludes that urban developments represent a unique opportunity to address the problems and major challenges of current cities at the social, economic and environmental levels: climate change, disparity, social cohesion, attraction of investment and generation of economic activity and jobs.
Madrid is already taking great steps in this regard, with numerous of public, private and social initiatives, as well as organizations that work for the environment. In this context, the Arup study points out that Madrid Nuevo Norte "is an urban regeneration project that represents a great opportunity to place the city among the most sustainable cities on the planet."
