This holding, dedicated to the hotel segment, has a portfolio of 5 hotels located at the main Spanish holiday destinations, such as the Casa Cook Ibiza; the Sunwing Arguineguin in the Canary Islands; the Sun Club El Dorado, in Mallorca; the Aldiana Andalucía and the Aldiana Costa del Sol, both located in the city of Cadiz.
Those hotels are currently 50% owned by LMEY, but in the near future, the company may own them at 100%. Newspaper Expansión reveals, in its print edition, that LMEY’s partner and founder Hans Kortlevers’ intention is to «acquire that share», meaning the 50% share Thomas Cook has in the joint holding. The newspaper adds that the buying offer is not yet defined, but it should meet an independent appraisal of the properties.
Despite British Thomas Cook having started winding up proceedings last week, Hans Kortlevers guaranteed to the same newspaper that the TCHI holding’s accounts were not affected.
