The company concluded the rental of 3.000 sqm at number 605 Avenida Diagonal. The 15.000 sqm building will be converted into the company’s corporate offices.
Lacer will leave its historic headquarters in Barcelona’s Eixample district to move to the city’s CBD, to a building owned by Merlin Properties at number 605 Avenida Diagonal. This space will act as the company’s corporate headquarters and will host Lacer’s registered office, since the company has, since the end of the nineties, a 16.000 sqm floor in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona).
Market sources explained that this rental will be an intermediate step, since Lacer plans to seek a new corporate headquarters it can own, when there is an opportunity. Until now, the company occupied 13.000 sqm at number 350 calle Sardenya. The building’s age and its low occupancy led the company to place it on sale to so as to be converted into a housing building located in the centre of Barcelona. The operation’s marketing is being carried out by Savills Aguirre Newman and is expected to be concluded within the next few weeks.
Lacer is a family group established in the 1920s, when Carlos Andress was sent by pharmaceutical company E. Merck from Germany to Barcelona. In time and with the help of his son Horst, he bought a small local lab, known as Lacer. The pharmaceutical company’s portfolio includes a set of cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nervous system, urology, hair care, body protection, oral healthcare and allergy products. The company started exporting its products in 1970 and is present in forty countries, it has more than 400 employees and revenues above 120 million euro.
