João Xavier, Widerproperty's new Retail General Director
João Xavier, Widerproperty's new Retail General Director, has 25 years of experience in managing shopping centers and portfolios in the Retail area. He started as director of shopping centers in Portugal, namely Via Catarina, GaiaShopping, Norteshopping and Parque Nascente. In the last 15 years, he has taken on very important functions in the management of shopping centers in international structures, passing through several countries (Poland, Turkey, Latvia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands), in complementary functions which also included the business development areas, marketing, commercial and customer experience.
In his international experience, the leadership in opening two of the largest shopping centers in Europe, in Turkey (Forum Istanbul and Marmara Forum) and Manufaktura in Poland, stands out.
Luís Loureiro, CEO of the company, explains in an interview to Vida Imobiliária that «the integration of our new General Director Retail is clearly an investment, João Xavier has a lot of international experience and has recently returned to Portugal, he wanted a project in which he could contribute to the company strategy and Retail management in particular. The alignment was very simple ». He believes that «João will be a key player in contact with international investors who are analyzing opportunities in our market and who are looking for a management partnership to ensure an integrated management model, with an international vision and standards».
This is Widerproperty's business area exclusively dedicated to the retail segment. Luís Loureiro explains that «the DNA comes from Amorim Imobiliária and the setting up and management of the Dolce Vita shopping center network, and it has been a bet since 2014 when we started our activity».
