The Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (Service for Foreigners and Frontiers) reveals that 221 “golden visas” were attributed in January, 207 of which were for the purchase of property, a total of 126.5 millions euros, and 14 for capital transfer.
Since 2012 when the programme attracted more than 2,700 million euros of investment, of which 2,442 million were invested in the purchase of real estate, there have been 4,423 residence authorisations - 3,154 to Chinese, 282 to Brazilians, 159 to Russians and 148 to South Africans, these being the most represented nationalities.
