The new assets will be built in Málaga, Valencia (cities where the company already owns the respective terrains) and Vigo, according to sources close to the operation quoted by La Información.
The shopping centres will be built from scratch, since Intu discards for now, reconverting the existing ones: «I don’t believe that in the short term we’ll see transactions like the one we made in Xanadú», remarks Intu’s CFO in Spain, Jorge González. And he adds that «there are many shopping centres in Spain, but not all have the possibilities we think are important in terms of capacity to expand». So the company tries «to find a space for each of them, which will allow everybody to feel good in our shopping centre».
