The agreed price for the purchase of the shares including the liquidation of the incentive agreed in the shareholders' agreement, has been €155 million. In addition, Hispania will pay the Barceló Group an amount equal to the expected dividend in BAY for the year 2017, valued at around €11 million, as well as other compensatory and / or liquidating payments, which will result in a total payment for the entire transaction of €172.4 million.
Simultaneously, Hispania has acquired Barceló Guadalmina Hotel from the Barceló Group for a total of €19 million. The 4-star hotel, located in Guadalmina Alta (San Pedro de Alcántara), was built in 2004 and has 206 rooms. With this hotel Hispania consolidates its position in Marbella, where it already has the Guadalmina Hotel with 178 rooms.
The Barceló Group will continue to be a strategic partner for Hispania, operating through different brands of the group, near 20 of its 45 hotels.
With these acquisitions and the investment plan for improvement and repositioning, Hispania is consolidated as the largest hotel owner in Spain with more than 13,100 rooms and the main institutional investor in the holiday segment.
