The company guaranteed the management of new assets with different typologies and from new clients even during the pandemic. The acquisition of several debt portfolios contributed the most for the increase in assets under management.
HipoGes also expanded the management of REOs spread across several clients, something that José Aycart, Associate Director Real Estate, considered will allow HypoGes «to reaffirm its leadership in the portfolio and investment fund’s management segment».
The servicer remained active in the distressed asset market, which was also impacted by the pandemic and gained a new dynamic during this year’s last quarter, and the company expects to close the management of two more portfolios until the end of the year.
A new line of business and conclusion of NATA stood out in 2020
HipoGes considered 2020 to have been a very positive year for Portugal, and highlighted the opening of a new line of business, with the management of 170 million euro in rental housing assets, a portfolio given to the servicer for it to manage by an American fund «which acquired one of the country’s main insurers».
According to the company, the highlight of the year was the conclusion of the NATA transaction, a portfolio acquired from KKR and estimated at more than 300 million euro.
In Spain, HipoGes incorporated a housing mortgage loan portfolio capable of reaching 750 million euro. During the year’s final quarter, the company added an SME debt portfolio estimated at 250 million euro.
HipoGes also consolidated its position as a servicer for financial entities, with the management of a portfolio from a Portuguese bank, a project which includes SME debt management worth around 150 million euro.
