This is a building in a prestigious location, in the heart of the Paseo de Gracia. In this sense, the idea for the project is to refurbish the property while keeping its present use, once the rental contract with Banco Popular is finalised in twelve months.
In recent years, Paseo de Gracia has become one of the top international destinations for the big brands, which seek ever larger spaces so as to attract both the local and the international buyer, the latter being more and more present in the central shopping streets of the Catalan capital. The majority of national macroeconomic indexes, together with the sustained growth in the attractiveness of Barcelona as a tourist destination, have meant that el Paseo de Gracia has become one of the most coveted locations, as much for the brands already present as for those who want to open their first flagship stores in Spain.
According to Anna Esteban, general director of CBRE in Barcelona, “this deal, one of the biggest in recent months in the city, has consolidated the two big trends which we are today observing in the real estate sector. Firstly, the interest of international capital in Barcelona; secondly, the tendency towards the transformation and renovation of assets, thus placing them at the top of a demand ever more sophisticated and demanding.”.
