Located at number 1 Calle Padre Ferrer, this senior residence features 147 residential spots (143 beds), 25 spots in the behaviour disorders unit and 20 spots in the daycare centre, it can be read on Domus VI’s webpage, the residence’s current operator will remain so in the future since it has a long-term occupancy contract.

For Albert Fernández, Healthcare Activos’ CEO, «this acquisition continues our strategy of investing on the long-term in assets with great quality and guaranteed long-term rents with top operators, which ensures attractive returns for our shareholders through their dividends and with a very limited risk».
This senior centre marks the Spanish REIT’s entry into the Spanish community of Andalusia and it is the 33rd asset to incorporate its portfolio, which is currently estimated at more than 400 million euro. One of its latest operations took place in October with the purchase of 5 nursing homes for 50 million euro.
Also in October, the REIT created by management company Healthcare Activos and Altamar Capital Partners started being listed at Euronext Access Paris, a market which offers «better conditions» for the REIT to reach its goal of European expansion, revealed Healthcare Activos’ president and founder Jorge Guarner when the information went public. Currently, the REIT’s focus is investing in operational and stable assets and it has as its main investors, institutional investors and family offices in Spain and Latin America.
Management company reinforces portfolio and ESG commitment
This new acquisition also reinforced the REIT’s management company’s (Healthcare Activos) portfolio, which currently includes more than 46 assets, 40 of which are operational and the other 6 under development, with a total value estimated at more than 500 million euro.
This week, the management company announced it had adhered to the Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI), an initiative from UN’s Global Pact and UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) directed towards the different investment market’s players, as part of a global community of more than 3.000 companies and institutions which work towards reaching a long-term economically efficient and sustainable global financial system.
With this initiative, «Healthcare Activos reiterates its firm commitment towards the integration of environmental, social and corporate governance criteria (ESG) in its investment and asset management policies, taking a new step within the path initiated last year in September with its incorporation within the United Nations’ Global Pact, adopting Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as the driving force of its business strategy», it revealed in a release.
