The deal was concluded for 25 million euro and this operation marked Healthcare Activos Investment’s debut in Portugal and abroad, since Portugal was the country chosen by the company to start its internationalisation, reported Spanish daily newspaper Eje Prime. «We are very happy with the acquisition of our first asset in Portugal», stated the founder and president of Healthcare Activos, Jorge Guarner.
Portuguese group Trofa Saúde will remain in charge of managing the asset, whose sale was through a contract which guarantees its lease for many years.
Hospital Trofa Saúde Vila Real was built from scratch and inaugurated in 2018, spreading across an area of 23.000 sqm. Of these, 14.000 sqm hold the hospital services, with 58 beds, 83 consulting rooms and three operating theatres and the remaining 9.000 sqm are destined to hospital support services and technical areas.
Since its creation in 2016, Healthcare Activos has already purchased 39 assets, 32 of which are operational and the remaining seven are under development. Its current portfolio is worth more than 450 million euro.
