The news is now advanced by the newspaper Expresso, according to which here will arise a hotel with 104 rooms and 70 apartments for residential and tourist use, as well as 6 shops and a CTT space. This is another investment of this promoter group, which also owns the building 8 Building, in Lisbon, former headquarters of CTT, and is now a tourist accommodation project with 107 apartments, 16 shops and rooftop restaurant.
As explained by Luis Corrêa de Barros, one of the founders of the Habitat Invest group, "following the 8 Building of Lisbon, we are now betting on the city of Oporto to develop a similar concept. We already have the approved PIP (Prior Information Request), the architectural project by Ginestal Machado is already ongoing and we hope to move forward with the construction already in 2018,” writes the same newspaper.
30 of the 70 apartments will be type T0, one of the most sought for investment in residential tourism. In relation to the hotel, negotiations are taking place with some hotels, "some of them are linked to funds that can then choose for the purchase when the project reaches cruising speed", explains the same director.
This is one of the 13 projects that Habitat Invest currently has in its portfolio, 8 in Lisbon, 2 in Oporto and 3 in Cascais, for a total of 940 apartments, resulting from an investment of €340 million.
