During the month of February, investment attracted through golden visa concessions reached 52.3 million euro, a 13% increase yoy, and 58% more than the 33 million euro invested in January.
According to the calculations from press agency Lusa, based on the statistics from Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (Foreigners and Borders Service) - SEF, real estate investment represented 47.5 million euro, of which 8.6 million euro concern acquisitions for urban renewals. Capital transfers represented 4.7 million euro.
89 visas were granted through real estate assets’ purchase, 24 of which for urban renewal and 11 through capital transfers.
The numbers quoted by Público also remark that 46 golden visas were granted to citizens from China, 7 to Brazilian citizens, 5 to American, 4 to citizens from Pakistan and 3 others to Russians.
Launched in October 2012, the ARIs concession program already received an aggregated investment of 5.724 million euro, 5.177 of which were invested to purchase buildings, 288 were invested in urban renewal. Capital transfers only represented 547 million euro.
Up until February, 9.544 visas had been granted, 8.970 through real estate purchases, 801 of which for urban renewal.
