Freo, an independent pan-European investment manager and developer, is building a new business complex in the 22@ district of Barcelona for the second half of 2022. The project, called Mile 22@ Business Campus, will be made up of three independent buildings that will add up to a total of 38.000 sqm of GLA. The properties will be commercialized by Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE.
The office complex will consist of the Mile Badajoz building, 8.000 sqm and 10 floors; Mile Llull, 13.700 sqm and 10 floors; and Mile Avila, with an area of 16.500 sqm and 7 stories high. Construction of the new complex started in early March.
Two of the buildings are connected to each other by landscaped areas. The complex is located in Eje Badajoz, an area within the 22@ area that has become the new engine of transformation of the district. Specifically, there are companies such as Amazon, T-Systems, Oracle, Facebook, HP, Everis, Criteo, Henkel and Schibsted.
The business campus is designed to house up to three independent corporate headquarters, with open, efficient and modular floors of up to 3.200 sqm, adapting to the demand of large corporations.
Sustainability is another of the differential factors that Freo projects. In this way, more than 30% of the surface of the campus is dedicated to garden spaces in the open air. In addition, there is a unique landscaping project with urban forest and indigenous plants.
The materials for its construction are sustainable and already have a Leed Platinum pre-certificate for their characteristics and for tangible reductions in water and electricity consumption. On the other hand, solar panels have been installed on the roof.
