This is a format «adapted to the current pandemic», which «allows both physical and virtual participation», the organisation explained to VI.
Expo Real‘s new format is being prepared, combining the best of the original summit with a new digital platform. The decision was taken during the latest meeting of Expo Real’s Advisory Board as a response to the special circumstances created by the Covid-19 pandemic. «We must pass on the message that the industry is taking a step forward», consider these players, which include Stadt München, Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH, AENGEVELT Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, German Council of Shopping Centers and associations ZIA and IVD. More than maintaining the leadership and importance within the real estate market, Expo Real should transform itself towards the future, consider the summit’s participants.
The new format will be developed based on three different pillars, live conferences for participants physically present at the summit and streaming for online participants; Smart Spaces for exhibitors with up to 24 sqm, and specific exhibition areas, such as Expo Real Innovation, dedicated to start-ups.
The scheduling details will be finalised during the coming weeks, but the organisation revealed that one of the main discussion topics will be the pandemic’s impact on the short, mid and long-term within the real estate industry. It is important to understand the impact on real estate investment, for all of the real estate’s segments and how the digitisation process was accelerated.
The organisation expects the participation of 5.000 people in Munich, but it warned that this number is dependent on the new guidelines from the local authorities.
