The largest Portuguese private equity management firm will now concentrate on the purchase of office blocks in the Portuguese capital, with 200 million euros allocated for this effect.
The founder member of Explorer, Elizabeth Rothfield, told the Jornal de Negócios that, “We believe that there is still a lot of room in the property market in Lisbon, especially offices”. For this reason, she revealed, “We are working to put together a real estate fund for offices in Lisbon, to be ready to start in two months”.
In the same interview, granted with the founder-member and the president of the society, Rodrigo Guimarães, she explained that 100 million euros of capital had already been raised among investors, to which could be added a further 100 million of euros in debt, giving the fund a ‘fire power’ of 200 million.
With the launch of this new fund, Explorer Investments, founded in 2003, will have 1,230 million euros under management.
