The deal consists of the lease of a 68.000 sqm unit, located on a 127.000 sqm terrain. After settling in within the logistic unit – which is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2022 –, DIA should remain active for 25 years.
This parcel corresponds to one-quarter of the complex’s available area – 500.000 sqm – and its construction represents a 50 million euro investment, also a quarter of all the investment estimated for the logistic park. This operation is already considered «one of the largest within the Spanish logistic market so far this year», revealed the release sent to the newsrooms by Aquila Capital this Monday.
On this operation, Sven Schoel, AQ Acentor’s CEO, commented that «the signing of this deal with DIA is excellent news for Aquila Capital and for our project Illescas Green Logistics Park in Spain. This project is destined to become a reference in terms of logistics both in Spain and in Southern Europe and joins our projects in Azambuja, Portugal, Tortona, Italy and in Germany, which will become sustainable logistic references internationally».
For the food distribution chain, this unit will become «DIA’s largest warehouse in Spain», revealed the release. With this key-in-hand deal, DIA will customise the space according to its needs, with 22.000 sqm set for fresh and frozen products.
Illescas Green Logistics Park, as the name indicates, considers the implementation of environmental sustainability measures, which have awarded it Breeam’s «very good» certification. This logistic complex will be integrated within, what is already considered as the country’s first Eco-Industrial Park, Plataforma Central Iberum, which seeks to reach zero carbon emissions, thus becoming the first carbon-neutral industrial park in Europe.
