This is the first property DER Touristik Hotels & Resorts acquires in Portugal, and it is added to the set of more than 80 hotels it has all over the world under different types of operations.
Christian Grage, DER Touristik Hotels & Resorts’ General Manager, commented that «this acquisition is part of our expansion strategy and it fits our high-end business model as well as the management, acquisition and leasing of properties. Roland Bachmeier, former owner, said he was «happy that Galo Resort was acquired by DER Touristik and that it will thus be managed by a solid and successful European travel group», quoted Publituris.
Located in the South-eastern area of the Madeira Island, this resort consists of three hotels: Galomar, Galosol and Alpino Atlântico, which feature a total 231 rooms. It also includes the Galo Active Club, with classes, training areas, squash courts, spa and a private pool complex with nautical activities.
