This is observed in the “I Estudio AEDAS Homes de Demanda de Obra Nueva de Costal del Sol” (1st Study AEDAS Homes of Demand of New Construction of Costa del Sol), that shows that 76.8% of the potential buyers of a property of new construction in this area intends to acquire it as a second home.
This high percentage of applicants for a second home on Costa del Sol is, by far, the highest in Spain. It quadruples the national average (19%) and is well above Barcelona (4.9%), Seville (1.6%) and Madrid (1.3%).
Among the demand for a house on Costa del Sol, either as a first or second home, foreigners are very present (mainly from northern Europe), which represent up to 75% of the total number of hunters of a house on Costa del Sol.
