The hotel sales transaction, until now owned by Ayco Grupo Inmobiliario, includes the building of former hotel Byblos, closed since 2010 and the thalassotherapy centre, located in a 50.000 sqm parcel.
The buyer acquires the hotel in order to reopen it maintaining the building’s uniqueness, which will probably be managed by an international brand and whose opening might take place in 2021. On the location of the former Byblos a top-class hotel with approximately 200 rooms will be built.
The reopening of the Byblos en Mijas will be an important milestone for this community’s economy recovering a luxury destination within the Costa del Sol.
This operation confirms that «international investors’ appetite for this type of assets remains at an all-time high, especially given the possibility for repositioning within one of our country’s most consolidated tourist destinations the asset offers», states Laura Hernando, Hotels Managing Director at Colliers International.
