The parcel, acquired from Cofarefs, is located at San Cibrao das Viñas’ Ciudad del Transporte and has more than 10.137 sqm. The warehouse will have around 5.600 sqm, according to a release from the company.
This new centre will allow the company to guarantee a more effective distribution of medicines and other healthcare products between the nearly 200 most in demand pharmacies within the Ourense province.
The company drew a dozen routes to distribute the 27.000 products of reference it has within its services’ portfolio, which will allow it to unload on the other warehouses within the autonomous community, which are located in Vigo and A Coruña. The new warehouse will also feature specific robots to handle low rotation products.
With this new operation, Cofares continues following its logistic plan, which determines that in 2023, each Spanish pharmacy should have a company’s warehouse located no more than an hour away.
Following this goal, besides the warehouses in Vicálvaro (Comunidad de Madrid), Linares (Jaén) and San Cibrao das Viñas (Ourense), Cofares has projects to install new logistic centres in Seville, the Canary Islands, Castellón, Tarragona and Alcobendas. The signing ceremony, which took place this morning, featured Carlos Varela, Cofares’ counsellor. During the ceremony, it was made clear the importance of selecting this municipality as the next one to continue the company’s expansion both in Galicia and the rest of Spain.
