From October 8, 2012 to December 31, 2017, the total investment raised with the program in Portugal amounted to 3,411 million euros. Just last year, the Chinese invested €306,397,093.97 (538 visas) in Portugal, 37% less than in 2016.
As newspaper Negócios recalls, 2014 was the year that the program attracted more Chinese investment, in a total of €710,996,841.80 and 1,235 visas.
Brazilians rank second in the visa program and were responsible for an investment of €178,845,779.64 in 2017, an amount higher than the previous year.
Note also for South Africa, which also already represents a cumulative investment of €139,635,801.71.
