These units, located within the Community of Madrid and Andalusia, currently operate under the brand Supersol and belong the group located in Lithuania. This information was advanced by both companies in a release to which El Confidencial had access where it is further revealed that this operation will only be concluded at the beginning of next year.
With this transaction, Carrefour consolidates its position in Spain where it already owns 1191 units between super and hypermarkets. According to the release, these new units will be refurbished, and will operate under the French brand, both in terms of the retail units and the logistic units destined for e-commerce.
Supersol, which now owns 173 supermarkets in the country, should continue its investment plan. Vygintas Sapokas Supersol’s CEO assumed that Carrefour «is the operator which can best assure the continuity and competitiveness of our shops».
