The Caleido retail area – which has a 15.000 sqm GLA – will be «Inmobiliaria Espacio’s big bet», reveals the company’s CEO Alberto Muñoz in an interview to newspaper El Economista. The building will be constructed next to the Cuatro Torres Business Area in Madrid, a business park in the Spanish capital which, according to Muñoz, «is in need of commercial, food and leisure offer to meet the demand of a fluctuating population and also that of the residents who were already demanding it».
The project, designed by design studio Fenwick & Iribarren in co-authorship with Serrano Suñer consists in building a retail street in front of the building, which should have between 80 and 85 shops, which will be arranged by retail units, thus creating food and event areas, for example. The green areas will also be a part of Caleido, as well as a parking lot with 2.000 parking spots.
Currently, 40% of the shops are already leased. And, according to Alberto Muñoz, Inmobiliaria Espacio has already reached an agreement with IE University to install a university campus within the 35-floor building and it will also, in partnership with Quirónsalud open a medical centre.
