Management company BentallGreenOak has announced the purchase of Metropolitan Real Estate Equity Management from The Carlyle Group. BGO seeks to create a real estate platform with different investment strategies in charge of managing 55 billion dollars in assets.
The operation combines BentallGreenOak’s Core, Core Plus, Value Add and Debt strategies and Metropolitan’s primary, secondary and co-investment real estate strategies. From now on, Metropolitan will operate as BGO Strategic Capital Partners
Sonny Kalsi, BentallGreenOak’s general manager, pointed out after buying Metropolitan Real Estate Equity Management that now they own «the global market’s secondary markets’ leader».
The company has 24 offices in Canada, United Kingdom and Asia and more than 750 clients. It offers asset management services and other services, such as lease management. The company also markets sustainable portfolios.
