The Special State Delegate for the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) president of BMP, Pere Navarro, and the CEO of CZFB and BMP, Blanca Sorigué, presented, before the media, the current edition of the event, which is much more socially aware and focused on innovation and sustainability. BMP 2018 will host 280 companies from 21 countries, a 5% increase over last year’s edition, it will have a 22.000 m2 exhibition area and will hold 24 sessions, divided between the International Symposium and BMP Proptech Congress, with 85 world class speakers.
The right to have access to a house
BMP’s president, Pere Navarro, has ensured that «we are aware of the tremendous difficulties that many people have to get access to a house, particularly young people who are being forced to move far away with the consequent talent drain which has been affecting our country». Navarro added that «this year’s edition of the Barcelona Meeting Point, more than bringing concrete proposals, will be the meeting point for a dialogue between all parties commited to find solutions which will grant us the right to a house that all citizens should have».
The latest trends and innovations in real estate
“Trends & Innovations” is the title of BMP’s Congress which includes BMP’s International Symposium and the first edition of the BMP Proptech Congress. The goal of the event is to present the sector’s latest trends and innovations. Blanca Sorigué, BMP’s CEO, explained that «BMP’s International Symposium will gather some of the main players in real estate to debate and analyse in depth the present and future of the residential, office and hotel markets». Sorigué also stressed that «in the BMP Proptech Congress leading international experts will bring us closer to real estate’s latest trends and innovations, and the future will become the present in BMP».
Smart and sustainable solutions
Another innovation concerning the current edition of the Barcelona Meeting Point is the creation of BMP Startup Connection Hub, an area within the exhibition where 50 startups will present disruptive solutions which will directly impact real estate, redifining the way in which business is handled and showcasing more sustainable and efficient construction and restoration techniques.
