This three-star unit is located at number 81, Molins de Rei street, in the Catalan capital and it features 87 rooms, 30 parking spots and 150 sqm available for events.
The transaction was concluded at the beginning of August for an undisclosed amount and sets the end of B&B Hotels' portfolio in Spain, where it now is limited to operating 33 hotels. B&B Hotel Rubí is one of them since this was a sale & leaseback operation, which guarantees it the occupation of the hotel for at least 30 years, revealed the group in a release to which HotelTur had access. Within Iberia, B&B Hotels also operates 4 hotels in Portugal.
On this deal, Jorge Zelada, B&B Hotels’ Spain Expansion director, commented that «this operation is strategic for B&B Hotels, allowing the chain to alleviate its balance in Spain and Portugal somewhat, to maintain a strong growth pace across the entire Iberian Peninsula in the future. We currently have a large number of ongoing projects and keep seeking opportunities to continue our sustained growth in the entire region to remain the undisputable leader of budget hotels».
B&B Hotels’ strategy for this and next year is to expand its hotel network «through long-term leases and to expand, in that way, our innovative business model Only for Everyone», revealed Lucía Méndez-Bonito, B&B Hotels’ CEO for Spain and Portugal.
