The average price of new houses for the remaining cities which are not provincial capitals is around 1.632 €/sqm, which represents a 3.3% increase from December 2017.
The yoy price variation for new houses during 2018, is at 5.4% although there are symptoms of fatigue, particularly in the great capitals, according to the appraiser.
The new houses level of production during the first nine months of 2018 (data concerning works management from M. Fomento) has grown almost 17% yoy. It is still below what is considered appropriate for the needs of the population.
Madrid and Barcelona remain the driving forces of price recovery, keeping a certain distance from the remaining municipalities, although the growth acceleration shown in previous quarters seems to have stagnated somewhat. Still, and maintaining the trend observed in the first quarter of 2018, in some provincial capitals there were slightly higher increases over previous quarters: Palma de Mallorca (5.8%), Malaga (5.2%), or Valencia (4.6%).
