This is a European competition from CBRE, in its second edition, which looks for projects that can design the future of real estate, it has challenged talents from all over the world to tender their submissions. With the digital transformation playing an increasingly more relevant role in real estate, CBRE is investing on the search for unique solutions, which might bring added value to the market.
The projects will be judged by an international jury, which includes four portuguese members, and will allow the winners to develop their ideas together with CBRE, taking advantage of its know-how and guidance.
Pedro Rocha Vieira, Beta-i’s CEO and international jury at Proptech Challenge, believes that «initiatives like Proptech Challenge are becoming more and more relevant, at a time when traditional economy is being pressured to find new business models and to integrate emerging technologies, which are becoming more mature. Sectors such as real estate can take advantage of this progress, but for that, it is necessary for the companies that lead the market to invest in this new paradigm, and in their own future, so they don’t get caught up by it».
For Ricardo Luz, Partner at Gestluz Consultores and international jury at Proptech Challenge, «the technological innovation that has been bringing significant change, and even disruption to the business models and companies across the whole economic system, is also a reality for the real estate sector. Proptech Challenge is one of the most important vehicles for promoting talented people and innovative companies with ideas and projects that aim to change real estate, improving its competitiveness and sustainability, and in improving the territories and the lives of the people who inhabit, visit and work in them».
