Amenabar bought El Diario Vasco’s headquarters from Vocento for €18.5M

Vocento has assured it intends to «release investments in non-productive assets, so as to optimise its real estate portfolio». The buildings and terrains’ divestment was ratified by Vocento’s shareholder’s general meeting that took place on 16 of July 2020, but the property transfer only took place this Monday.

Despite the sale, Diario Vasco can continue occupying the building until 28 of April 2022. Nevertheless, the group believes this deadline will not be reached.

During the last few years, the editorial group has been carrying out a divestment plan. In 2016, it sold ABC’s headquarters in Madrid to REIT Axiare for 35 million euro, among other sales. Vocento currently has forty assets, such as offices, commercial stores and terrains.
