The building has a total of 250 sqm and is located in Viana’s historic centre and it was currently vacant. The sale’s amount was not disclosed.
This operation was appointed to JLL following its cooperation with the insurance company in the North of the country, especially in Porto. JLL was contacted to sell the company’s old 2.600 sqm headquarters located at Rua Gonçalo Cristóvão, but Allianz preferred to rent the whole building to a hotel brand, guaranteeing a long-term contract.
JLL accompanied the sale of one other building from Allianz in Braga, with 450 sqm and is advising the insurer on the search for new headquarters in the same city.
Fernando Ferreira, Head of Capital Markets at JLL, commented this operation in a release, stating that «during the pandemic, to carry out an operation like this, especially in smaller buildings within secondary cities, shows that the market is active and that it is becoming increasingly more diversified in terms of geography and building profile».
And he added that «it was, without a doubt, an added challenge for the team, whose commitment to the operations makes a difference and has earned us the confidence of such a prestigious entity as is Allianz».
