Aedas Homes continues to grow in Catalonia, one of the main markets for new construction housing in Spain and one of the strategic areas for the company. The developer invested around 25 million euros last year in the acquisition of five plots of land to promote about 350 homes in different cities of Barcelona: Sabadell, El Masnou, Terrassa and Sitges. The latter will shortly begin marketing its first promotion, Nisart.
«Catalonia is a strategic enclave for Aedas Homes in which we have strengthened our operational position in recent times. We have continued to find investment opportunities and, therefore, we continue to acquire new land. We are talking about a market with a demand that is responding very well to the high-quality product that the company offers», declares David Gómez, territorial director of the promoter in Catalonia and Aragon.
Since its arrival in 2016, Aedas has launched a total of 34 projects with 1.970 homes in Catalonia that represent an investment of 5.00 million euros. Of these promotions, it has delivered 11 with 630 units, about 300 in the last year. The average selling price of the company’s houses in this region is around 300.000 euros.
To these projects must be added a Build to Rent (BtR) promotion to rent 86 homes that has sold and promoted for Grupo Lar and Primonial in Hospitalet de Llobregat. «It is the first of its kind to be promoted in Catalonia in the current real estate cycle by a listed company and whose construction is about to begin», says Gómez.
