Golden visa: investment drops 46% in April

Around 28 million euro were invested in Portugal last month through the issuing of «golden visas», 46% less yoy.


This is a new drop, which follows the trend started since the end of 2019. In April, 53 residence permits for investment were granted, 42% less yoy.

The numbers from SEF (Portuguese Foreigners and Borders Service) quoted by DV reveal that acquired real estate alone represented a 24.4 million euro investment, corresponding to 45 ARIs (Residence Permit for Investment) granted. The transfer of capital represented 3.6 million euro (8 ARIs granted).

On April, 15 ARIs were granted to Chinese citizens, followed by Brazilians with 9 permits, Iranians with 5 visas and Russians with 3.
