14 November 2019 | Vanessa Sousa

The historic building located at Plaza de Catalunya in Barcelona, which was part of Telefónica’s portfolio was sold for 100 million euro to investor Daniel Maté.

This is a sale&leaseback operation, since the investor assumed the compromise, as per the terms of the contract, to assure that Telefónica will keep using the building’s office spaces. The other tenant is Movistar Centre.

Daniel Maté is the owner of group Glencore and his wealth is estimated at 1.600 million euro. And he keeps buying around the country. According to El País, he recently acquired a 4 building portfolio for 50 million euro. These assets are located in different cities such as Barcelona, Madrid and Santander.
