Only one week until the 2020 edition of the Iberian REIT Conference. The event will receive, next week, on the 11th of February, at the Westin Palace, in Madrid, the main players of the Iberian listed real estate market.

Already confirmed are the presences of, amongst others, José Luis Jiménez Guajardo-Fajardo, Chief Investment Officer at Mapfre; Colonial’s CEO, Pere Viñolas, who, for the first time, is part of the event’s expert panel; Ismael Clemente, Merlin Properties’ CEO; Miguel Pereda, Grupo Lar’s Director and CEO; Ignacio Martínez-Avial, Managing Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate in Spain; and Andrés González de Cominges, General director for the Iberian market at Santander’s Corporate & Investment Banking.

Also present at the event will be Dominique Moerenhout, EPRA’s CEO; Paulo Núncio, Partner at Morais Leitão; as well as Gilles Emond, in charge of Real Estate at AGEAS Portugal; and Manuel Puerta da Costa, member of the board at APFIPP, amongst other experts.

The Iberian REIT Conference presents itself as an opportunity to get to know how the Portuguese REIT regime (SIGI), which only came into force during last year’s 2nd semester, started out in Portugal and also to anticipate the impact of the expected legal and tax changes on the Spanish SOCIMIs, where this regime is more consolidated. The impact of the new global demands in terms of responsible investment on the REIT market will also be one of the main subjects of discussion.

This is the event’s 3rd edition and it is organized by EPRA (European Public Real Estate Association) and by Iberian Property. During the 2019 edition, the event gathered 250 professionals amongst which investors, asset managers and the players from the main Spanish SOCIMIs and from the Portuguese and Spanish real estate sectors.
